My name is Loan; it’s a Vietnamese name (I pronounce my name Low-wen).

I grew up in Kearney, Nebraska. My parents adopted me from an orphanage in Vietnam. I am told the plane I was on may have been the last plane out of Saigon; whether this is true remains to be seen; however, it makes for an exciting story. I met my husband in Kearney while working at Cabela’s, and we moved to Dallas, Texas, where his first job took us after he graduated from UNK.

While in Dallas, I worked full-time, attended the University of Texas Dallas, and earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. I took some graduate economics courses at Southern Methodist University (SMU). I worked for a company that specialized in providing risk management, marketing, and supplier data on companies. I started as an administrative assistant and was promoted to customer support representative. Then, I earned a sales territory that comprised North Dallas, Louisiana, and Northern Arkansas. My husband was promoted, and we moved back to Nebraska, where we proudly bought a house in Papillion, Nebraska.

I had various corporate positions in the Omaha metro area before we decided to start a family. My husband and I are blessed with two perfect children. My daughter is a CPA in Colorado and works for an international construction firm in Denver; my son is working on his degree at a university in Kirksville, Missouri. Since we are “empty nesters,” our attention and affection are channeled to our little dogs.

I love sewing and doing research so that is the focus of my personal website.

Meet Loan Eby

Hello, I’m Loan (pronounced Lo-wen) Eby. My first name is pronounced: Lowen (Lowenbrau-the beer), or “low and” outside, or “low and” behold. I was born in Vietnam, my parents adopted me at a young age and they kept my birth name.

I grew up in Kearney, NE, and graduated from Kearney Senior High in 1989. I went to the University of Nebraska at Kearney my freshman year and transferred to the University of Texas at Dallas where I earned a bachelor’s degree in government. After receiving my undergraduate degree, I took graduate courses in economics at Southern Methodist University (SMU); I did not complete my graduate degree because Life got in the way.

Speaking of Life, I live in Papillion, NE, I am married and a mother of two amazing children (now adults), we have two adorable dogs that get all of my attention because my husband and I are empty nesters. I have worked various corporate jobs and now I am a full-time homemaker.
